Project Overview:

Aegis is a smart PPE compliance and tool access system developed to improve safety in fabrication labs and manufacturing environments. By integrating wearable sensors, wireless communication, and tool-mounted verification devices, the system ensures required protective equipment is worn before hazardous equipment can be used. The project combines industrial design, electronics prototyping, user research, and systems thinking to address persistent safety challenges while reducing technician workload, improving accountability, and creating a safer, more efficient shop environment.
